Information for the 2017-2018 School Year

The Purdue Trap and Skeet Club is looking to get off to a running start for this upcoming year. Last year was a rather successful year as we competed in several competitions, participated in many volunteering events, and much more. We became a Tier 1 club with the University which shows how successful last year was, we want to grow off of that experience and become better yet!

Upcoming callouts: Pizza and drinks will be provided!

August 31st from 7-8pm in ARMS B071
September 5th from 7-8pm. Location TBD.

Please subscribe to our email list if you have not already. That is the only way we send out when we are open to shoot. You can find the link on our homepage.

Upcoming Alumni Shoot:

Our annual Alumni Shoot will be September 8th, the range will open at 10:30am and be open until around 4pm. This is for alumni only, try to show up at the beginning as there will be a short meeting before lunch which starts at about 11:30.

We will be competing in several competitions this year just like last year. A new shoot some of us will be going on in late September to Colorado Springs. We will also be going to Columbus, Ohio, Fort Benning, Georgia, San Antonio, Texas, and potentially more. On most of these trips we take around 10-15 people. Costs are generally capped at $150 or less which covers everything besides for food and ammunition. Most of our competition occur on the weekends and require missing no classes, which a few exceptions.

The club can only be as good as its members, the more active you guys are the more active the club will be for everyone, so I encourage everyone to step up, help out and we can all have a good time! We are looking for Ranger Officers, they are people who are certified in CPR/AED/First Aid and have been trained to open the range. Our club is dependent on them to open the range and we are currently in low supply of them.

We have several events which are listed under the events tab, we try to keep them as up to date as possible. Our lights project began this summer and should be finished soon, we will be having later shooting times occasionally because of this, it especially helps in the winter when it gets dark at 5pm.

See you at the range!

  1. Hello! I am looking to be a part of the shotgun team/group. I am CPR/AED/First Aid certified, so I can be trained to be a range officer as well. Do you guys have practice nights? How would one join the team? Is there a tryout process? Thanks!
